La Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback è la variante sportiva a 5 porte della Lancer. La particolare forma della carrozzeria ne fa una via di mezzo tra una fastback ed una station wagon. Infatti, la capacità di carico del bagagliaio è da vettura familiare. Inoltre, vista anche l’omonimia tra i due modelli, è una diretta concorrente dell’Audi A3 Sportback. La gamma della Lancer Sportback è declinata in due differenti livelli di allestimento: Inform e Invite. Come la Lancer berlina a quattro porte, anche la Sportback condivide il frontale con la Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, versione stradale della vettura impiegata nelle gare di rally. La Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback è disponibile nelle motorizzazioni 1.8 a benzina da 143 CV e 2.0 DI-D da 140 CV.
