La Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan è la berlina media di segmento D della Casa svedese, introdotta sul mercato nel 2002 e sottoposta al restyling di metà carriera nel 2007. Lo stile porta la firma del talentuoso designer Michael Mauer. E’ stata una delle prime auto a conquistare cinque stelle nel test EuroNCAP. La gamma è declinata negli allestimenti Linear, Vector, Aero e tutte le versioni sono abbinate anche al cambio sequenziale Sentronic. La 9-3 Sport Sedan è disponibile anche nelle versioni XWD a trazione integrale e BioPower con alimentazione a bioetanolo. Invece, le motorizzazioni TiD e TTiD hanno il dispositivo DPF di serie. Le versioni 1.8 t, a dispetto della sigla, sono equipaggiate con il propulsore 2.0 turbo a benzina.
